| Main Goals & Responsibilities | |
• Characterization of stress-induced proteins (drought, salt and heat shock). • Isolation and characterization of stress related genes. • Isolation, characterization and expression of chitinase, its activity as a biological control agent. • Construction of eukaryotic expression cassettes for plant transformation. • Enhancement of nutritional quality of seed storage proteins in legumes. • Establishment of transformation system for crop plant. • Establishment of transformation materials using molecular methods.
